Blending Proteins

Democratising access to beautiful molecular landscapes.

Alternative subtitle: Why I still haven’t submitted my PhD thesis.

This is a quick website for my talk at COMBIO2022.

I sadly only get a 5 minute time slot, but here are my slides and some additional handy videos, links and contact information if you’d like to reach out!

Molecular Nodes

Molecular Nodes is a plugin for the 3D modelling and animation program Blender, which is a completely free and open source program used widely in the production of movies, TV and video games.

Molecular Nodes enables Blender to understand and create 3D models and animations based on the underlying atomic data like individual amino acids, protein chains and atomic properties of the individual atoms.

This significantly improves the workflow of trying to create beautiful & cinematic molecular landscapes, enabling a quick and robust way of dealing with structural biology and molecular data inside of Blender.

Molecular Nodes is also the reason that I still haven’t submitted my PhD thesis, outside of lab work I have been developing this addon with spare minute that I have.
